The Garden District Book Shop is pleased to announce an event celebrating the release of Matt Haines’ “The Big Book of King Cake”  will be held on January 15 at 11:00 AM. The book is a passion project for Haines that can be traced back to the 2017 Mardi Gras season.

“The Big Book of King Cake” is for anyone who loves food, history, sweets, culture, and of course, New Orleans.
The event is open to the public and will kick off at 11:00 AM. There will be samples of king cake provided by some of the bakers featured in the book onsite for guests to enjoy. Haines and photographer Randy Krause Schmidt will both be in attendance to discuss the inspiration behind the book and their creative process. Books will be available for purchase at The Garden District Book Shop.
